About Ohio Valley Concrete & Hardscapes

Veteran-Owned. Locally Built. Done Right.

Founded in Maineville, Ohio and built on integrity, discipline, and commitment — the same standards Mike Lopez served under, now poured into every driveway, patio, and hardscape we build.

Our Story

A Company Built the Way We Served

Ohio Valley Concrete & Hardscapes was founded in Maineville, Ohio by Mike Lopez, a veteran who came home and kept doing what the military taught him: show up on time, do the job right, and take responsibility for the result.

We are a veteran-owned and operated company — built on integrity, discipline, and commitment. Those are not marketing words to us. They are the reason your quote is honest, your crew is on schedule, and your finished concrete looks the same on the far corner as it does by the back door.

Today we pour driveways, patios, stamped concrete, walkways, and full hardscapes for homeowners across Warren and Butler Counties — one crew, one standard, no subbing the job out.

How We Build

Six Standards on Every Pour

Concrete fails underground before it fails on the surface. These six standards are non-negotiable on every job we take — they are why our work outlasts Ohio winters.

  1. 01

    4,000+ PSI Concrete Mixes

We spec mixes stronger than the typical residential minimum, because Ohio freeze-thaw punishes weak concrete first. Stronger mix, longer life — it is that simple.

  2. 02

    Proper Gravel Base

A slab is only as good as what is underneath it. We excavate to depth, grade for drainage, and compact the gravel base before a single yard of concrete arrives.

  3. 03

    Rebar & Mesh Reinforcement

Steel reinforcement — rebar or wire mesh, matched to the job — so the slab moves as one piece instead of cracking apart when the ground shifts.

  4. 04

    Correct Control-Joint Spacing

Concrete cracks; the craft is deciding where. We cut control joints at the right depth and intervals so movement happens in the joint, not across your patio.

  5. 05

    Cure Protection

Concrete reaches its strength over days, not hours. We protect every fresh pour through the critical cure window instead of rushing on to the next job.

  6. 06

    Sealed for Ohio Winters

A quality sealer defends the finished surface against water, deicing salts, and stains — the three things that age Ohio concrete fastest.

Why Veteran-Owned Matters

Military Values, Jobsite Habits

"Veteran-owned" is on a lot of trucks. Here is what it actually changes about how your project runs.

Discipline

Crews show up when we say we will, work from a written spec, and never skip a step because nobody is watching. The schedule we give you is the schedule we keep.

Integrity

Written quotes with line-item pricing and honest assessments. If your existing concrete can be saved, we will tell you — even when a full replacement pays us more.

Attention to Detail

Crisp edges, straight joints, a consistent finish across the whole pour — and a jobsite left cleaner than we found it, every single day.

Commitment

We stand behind every pour. If something is not right, Mike comes back and makes it right. That is what standing behind your work actually means.

Meet the Owner

Mike Lopez, Founder

When you call OHV Concrete, you talk to Mike — not a salesperson, not a call center. He walks your project, writes your quote, and is on the job while it is being built.

Mike's measure of a finished project is simple: would he stand on this slab in ten years and still be proud to say his company poured it? You will not find his face on a billboard — his work is in the photos. Every project in our gallery is a job he ran personally.
